Issue: Machine is not heating / No steam pressure / steam boiler gauge not climbing above 0bar
Common Cause: Steam Boiler High-Limit Thermostats are tripped or not giving the machine sufficient heating time for the steam boiler. While the thermoblock can heat and be at usable temperature within ~90seconds, the saturated steam boiler still requires a heat cycle time of ~10min to reach temperature and pressure parameters.
Resolution:
Step 1) Power off the machine and unplug the power cord from the outlet
Step 2) Remove upper cup rail
Step 3) Remove outer body surround panel
Step 4) Looking at the steam boiler from the left side, locate the 3 high limit thermostat switches (visible in photo below)
Step 5) Carefully depress both high limit reset switches (black buttons) (visibile in image below)
Step 4) If you feel a noticeable click on either switch, the high limit thermostat was tripped and prevented the steam boiler from heating as an overheating protection mechanism.
Step 5) Once the switches have been reset, power the machine back on and allow it to fully reheat (~10min max) before checking the steam pressure gauge/opening the steam valve to verify steam pressure. If the steam outputhas returned when opening the valve and the steam pressure gauge is reading nominal boiler pressure (1.2 - 1.5bar), then the high limit switches were the root cause of the issue.
**If these high-limit thermostats are continuously tripping, first verify that the water reservoir is full and not running the machine on empty. Alternatively, if directly plumbed in, please verify that the water filter is not blocked / the water supply valve is not turned off.
