Replacing PTFE tubing from steam vibratory pump to thermoblock with the stainless steel hose on select Steel DUO models (2024-earlier)
Step by step instructions and tools needed to replace tubing with reference to DUO/DUO PLUS Ascaso Factory Technical Update | Steam Hose Material Change | 06/2024

After removing the reservoir and lid, disconnect exhaust lines, remove filter tips and fully remove the silicone tubing from the reservoir partition. Remove the top flat head screw and nut from the SSR, only loosen the lower flat head screw because the SSR has an opening on the bottom that just rests on that lower screw. Set the partition carefully to the outside of the machine.

For the best access to the fitting that needs removed, the main board/CPU box needs loosened and held to the side. There is a phillips head screw on the reservoir partition that hold the brain box bracket that needs to be removed. There are 2 screws that need to be removed near the steam wand.

Please note: Take care NOT to manipulate the box too much because the green connectors can become disconnected. Please be sure to check this connection before reseating the main board/CPU box.

Silicone tubes can be tied left and right for remembering orientation and to keep the workspace less cluttered.
Next, 12mm and 13mm wrenches will be needed. The thermoblock fitting will spin so the brass elbow must be held in place with a crescent wrench while loosening the thermoblock nut.
Be sure to keep track of the PTFE washer that is installed under the brass elbow

Remove the rubber elbow and silicone supply line form the rear of the pump. After removing the elbow, disconnect the power leads from the pump and thread the pump and supply line back through the rubber supports. Remove the brass elbow from the pump and replace with the new elbow fitting (part #i2618), using a small amount of blue loctite (or similar thread locking product). Use another small dab of loctite and attach the braided hose (part #i4048).
Thread the hose and pump back into place, replace the power connections and rubber elbow.
Install the new elbow on the thermoblock fitting with loctite. Route the braided hose to the elbow, use a small amount of loctite then attach the braided hose.
